It may also be called the Democratic Party. But it seems to have some problems with democracy. Not only does Joe Biden’s electoral farewell continue to be shrouded in opacity, but his lightning replacement with Kamala Harris also doesn’t seem to be exactly in line with the popular will. Oh yes, because in the end the vote of over 14 million voters, who participated in the last Democratic primaries, was beautifully bypassed, in the name of a nomination granted mechanically from above. All this, in the silence of many media, which evidently find dynastic changes normal. To try to understand something more about the controversial internal dynamics of the American Democratic Party, The Truth decided to interview a figure who knows this alignment well: Tulsi Gabbard.
Once considered a true rising star of the Democratic Party, she was a Democratic congresswoman for the State of Hawaii from 2013 to 2021, also serving as vice-chair of the Democratic National Committee from 2013 to 2016. She also ran in the Donkey presidential primaries four years ago and, in that election campaign, had a tough televised clash with Harris. Increasingly at loggerheads with the Democratic establishment and ending up in the crosshairs of Hillary Clinton (who accused her of being pro-Russian), Gabbard finally left the Democratic Party in 2022, moving closer, as an independent, to Donald Trump. Last May, she was even considered a possible candidate running mate of the current Republican nominee. Recently, whistleblowers from the Federal Air Marshal Service revealed that Gabbard had suddenly been placed on a watchlist dedicated to domestic terrorist suspects, a circumstance she denounced as an act of “political retaliation” for criticizing the Biden-Harris administration. Meanwhile, Republican Congressman Tim Burchett has officially asked the government to explain why Gabbard ended up on that list.
Tulsi Gabbard, you left the Democratic Party after many years. What made you change your mind?
“I joined the Democratic Party because I saw a great, grassroots party that valued free speech, fought for civil liberties, and was inspired by leaders like President Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. The party I joined over 20 years ago is no more. Today, the Democratic Party is controlled by an elite cabal of woke warmongers who are tearing our country apart, racializing every issue, and undermining our God-given, Constitutional freedoms.”
You have never spared criticism of Kamala Harris. What are the worst political aspects that characterize the current Democratic presidential candidate?
Kamala Harris is unfit and unqualified to be our commander in chief and would be dangerous if she made decisions about war and peace. Furthermore, Harris has shown us, as a senator and vice president of the United States, exactly who she is. She will put her own self-interest ahead of the interests of the people she is supposed to represent. She will not hesitate to weaponize the Department of Justice and law enforcement to attack her political opponents and advance her interests.”
What is the real reason for Biden’s withdrawal from the election?
“Biden was just a figurehead. Those behind the scenes calling the shots recognized that he might not be their best chance of winning. So they bet on a new horse: Kamala Harris. The unelected ruling elite of the state, national security, and military-industrial complex that actually runs the country know that President Trump will end their hold on power. That’s why they will do everything they can to defeat him.
What do you think about the fact that Biden has not been replaced by new primaries or an open electoral process?
“The Democratic Party today does not believe in democracy or allowing Democratic primary voters to have a say in who they want their nominee to be. They rigged the 2016 Democratic primary for Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders. In 2020, I saw firsthand how they worked with the mainstream media to select the candidates they wanted voters to choose from and which ones they wanted canceled, smeared, and destroyed. And in 2024, in many states, they either did not hold primaries or did not allow any Democratic challengers to be on the ballot. It is no surprise that the nomination Kamala Harris’s election was essentially a coronation in which even Democratic primary voters had no voice.”
Dems are demonizing President Trump and JD Vance. What do you think?
“The Biden-Harris administration has an indefensible record over the last four years and is losing on the issues that matter most to the American people, when you compare their record to President Trump’s. They don’t want voters to focus on the issues, so they are resorting to their tried-and-true tactic of demonizing President Trump. They will stop at nothing to maintain their grip on power.”
Why the Democratic Party is having an increasingly difficult time gaining support from factory workers Rust Belt?
“The Democratic Party I joined more than two decades ago used to advocate for the well-being of ordinary Americans and appealed to people from all walks of life. Today, the Democratic Party is run by a cabal of elite warmongers fueled by a wokeness coward who does not care about the people: they only care about power for themselves”.
