Vittozzi, the comeback is all gold Moioli and Sommariva: what silver

Milan Cortina Olympics: the 31 year old from Sappada wins in the ten kilometer biathlon pursuit. Snowboarding: second medal for Moioli

How brave and beautiful our girls are. Driven by Federica Brignone’s incredible feat, the Italia Team celebrates Lisa Vittozzi’s gold who wins in the biathlon for the first time in Olympic history by triumphing in the ten kilometer pursuit. And then the silver in snowboarding with the second medal of Michela Moioli this time paired with. Lorenzo Sommariva. And so the Italian medal table in Milan Cortina surpasses the record of Lillehammer 1994. Back then we brought home twenty medals, now we are already at twenty-two with eight golds, four silvers and six bronzes. And there’s still a week of competition left.

Vittozzi’s comeback

After the silver in the mixed relay Lisa takes home a fantastic gold, dragged by twenty thousand crazy people for the 31-year-old from Sappada who separated her rivals with four perfect polygons and enjoyed the last lap alone before unleashing her joy. She screams, arms in the air, she almost seems to dance in the ecstasy of the Italian public on a sunny day as wonderful as our girl. “I brought out the determination I have to be here and to dream big after a very difficult year. And now I’m happy. Winning in front of this crowd is wonderful on the one hand but on the other I told myself not to let my attention drop otherwise I would have risked not getting to the end, in the face of so much support.”

Moioli pushes Sommariva

And then Michela Moioli’s silver in snowboarding together with Lorenzo Sommariva. Moioli had already won a bronze medal a few days after a terrible training accident but she didn’t want to miss another opportunity, she who won four of the eight medals won by the Italians in snowboarding at the Olympics.
