What happens in the final of the series

After a year spent in Paris, far from the family and from Cousins Beach, Belly receives an impatient visit from Conrad the day before her twenty -second birthday. At the beginning surprise and uncertain, he decides to accompany him for the city, showing his favorite places. Between hidden walks and glimpses, Belly and Conrad begin to reopen the dialogue, confronting the past experiences and on the feelings that remained suspended from the last meeting.

Walking on the enlightened streets of the city, they remember the beautiful and complicated moments of their history. A slow improvised dance along the Seine becomes the prelude to the kiss that establishes the return of love. That night, for the first time after adolescence, Belly and Conrad share a profound intimacy, rediscovering the strength of their bond. The following day, Conrad reminds Belly that now his life binds him “forever” to her. This causes fears and doubts in belly: fear that their love can be conditioned by the desires of Conrad’s mother, Susannah, and not by their authentic feelings. Despite Conrad’s reassurances, Belly struggles to accept until the last moment. He then runs to the station to find him before he takes the train to Brussels: a race that culminates in a kiss and mutual declaration of love.

What happens to the other characters

Steven and Taylor declare each other mutual love and decide to move together with San Francisco, starting a new chapter of their life away from Cousins. Denise and Jeremiah are definitively approaching, starting a stable romantic story full of complicity. Adam, Laurel and John, on the other hand, remain single, but in a serene way: each of them accepts their own choices and focuses on the happiness of the children, finding satisfaction and lightness in family relationships without the pressure of a partner.

The return to Cousins Beach
