Sweden, goodbye to the paradise of hospitality: local culture test and 8 years of residence for citizenship

Stockholm has understood that the immigration dream is a nightmare: and now citizenship arrives after a very difficult journey. Here, however, we continue to sleep.

From 6 June it is much more difficult for a foreigner to become a Swedish citizen. Meanwhile, at least eight years of residence are required (previously it was five). And naturally, in these years life must always have been “orderly and honest”: in the event of irregularities or, worse, in the case of crimes, a further period of “requalification” is triggered. Furthermore, you must demonstrate that you are able to support yourself: therefore have a gross income of at least 20 thousand crowns a monthMeaning what 1,800 eurosand you must demonstrate that that income is stable.

You must also not have received benefits for more than six months in the last three years. Finally, you must pass a citizenship test. The first test will be held in August: the Swedish Council for Higher Education he lets it be known that there will be sixty questions that will have to be answered in writing in ninety minutes. Among the topics to know: the history of Swedenthe rules of democracy and also local holidays and traditions. In practice, you cannot become a Swedish citizen without knowing what Pentecost and All Saints’ Day are, what day Saint Lucia is celebrated and what the typical dish of the midsummer festival is. Which is not couscous or even kebab, but herring with strawberries.

Sweden, farewell to the paradise of hospitality and a test of local culture

It seems like a crazy program. If the general proposed it at the convention of National future he would immediately be branded fascist and racist. Instead it is the law that has just come into force in what has always been the social democratic paradise ofEuropethe temple of welcome, the Eldorado of immigrationism.

TO Stockholmhowever, for some time they have decided to reverse course: the government led by moderate partyand supported by a right-wing formation, introduced increasingly severe measures against foreigners. The aforementioned law on citizenship requirements, in fact, is just one of the pieces of the new political line, together with other measures all designed to slow down immigration: the abolition of the indefinite residence permit (in force from 12 July), the increase in monetary incentives for repatriation and the suspension of aid to countries that do not agree to take back their escapees. Call them, if you want, remigrations.

The welfare crisis and the explosion of crime

It doesn’t seem true that it is the same country where, in 2014, the prime minister invited all foreigners to be welcomed under the banner of “open your hearts”. The Swedes listened to him. In fact, in 2016 the country had the highest number of immigrants among European states, immediately after the Germany. And today it has reached about 20% of the population born abroad.

Result? A disaster. The legendary welfare system, under the pressure of new arrivals, has gone into crisis (other than immigrants paying pensions). The growing Islamic community has created more and more tensions. And crime exploded. Stockholm has come to have a murder rate 25 times higher than that of London. And the phenomenon of young criminal gangs has become uncontrollable, with over 30 thousand armed and violent Arab-Scandinavian gangs causing panic in the cities. This is why the Swedish enlightened people were forced to go into reverse, moving from “open your hearts” to “close your doors”.

The decline of integration and the comparison with Italy

So where we used to preach welcome without ifs or buts, now we are ready to reject anyone who doesn’t know that Saint Lucia is celebrated on December 13th and that at the midsummer feast people eat herring with strawberries. When you think about it, after all, it’s quite natural: the countries that first preached and practiced hospitality are the first to experience its failure first-hand. It happened in France with the explosion of the suburbs. It’s happening in Great Britain with citizen revolts. It happened in Germanywhere not surprisingly theAfd it is growing dramatically while the government tries to put some modest patches. And it happened in Swedenwhich deluded itself into thinking it could fit the entire world into its welfare system, and then ran into the reality of economic problems, murders and baby gangs.

The moral is very simple: immigration, without rules and without limits, has proven to be an attack on our society. And the fairy tale of integration is proving to be what it is: a pious illusion. The first to notice it are precisely those who believed in it the most. In Italy this is the case ofEmilia-Romagna. One of the leading hospitality regions, always at the forefront in preaching open doors, now finds itself with attacks on Modenawould-be terrorists a Reggio Emiliathe extremist imams a Bolognathe baby gangs that dominate Parma. The only difference is that, in Swedenthey understood the problem and reversed course. Here, however, we prefer to blame the alleged “racists”. As if the fault of the disaster lay with those who reported it and not with those who caused it. So we prepare to succumb.
