Garlasco, Alberto Stasi’s legal strategy moves on multiple levels. In view of the conclusion of the preliminary investigations, here’s what’s on the table
It doesn’t just wait, the defense of Alberto Stasi. And while the time for justice is dragging on, the lawyers of the former Bocconi student definitively convicted for the murder of Chiara Poggikilled in Garlasco on 13 August 2007, have launched a complex strategy that develops on two distinct and complementary levels at the same time.
On the one hand, the request for review of the sentence before the Court of Appeal of Brescia. On the other hand, the new investigation opened by the Pavia Prosecutor’s Office, which has been entered into the register of suspects Andrea Sempio for the same crime. Two autonomous procedures, which travel on separate tracks, but destined (most likely) to intersect.
The new elements that emerged about Garlasco
On the table of the lawyers of Stasis there are at least three lines of work. The first, already known for some time, concerns DNA analysis. The other two, however, are more recent.
One focuses on rereading the interceptions of Example dating back to 2017. The other analyzes the dot sole prints found at the crime scene, comparing the walk and shoes of Stasis with those of the new suspect.
According to what the broadcast reported UnknownX on La7, at least one of the consultancies would have already been filed. The defense would also have conducted an independent investigative investigation, in which some new elements would have emerged. From an investigative source, the material would be “deemed to be of extreme interest”.
The legal issue of Garlasco
The terms of the preliminary investigations remain open until 28 September 2026, and only when they are exhausted will the magistrates be able to decide on the fate of Andrea Sempiosuspended between indictment and dismissal.
In the meantime, it’s not just the defense that moves autonomously Stasis. Also the legal team of Example is building its own response to the hypotheses of the Pavia Prosecutor’s Office, with consultancy aimed at dismantling the reconstruction of the prosecutors.
The Garlasco front therefore remains extremely complex and open on multiple sides. Waiting for the final chapter to be written of a novel that seemed to have ended much earlier.
