On April 2, the Farefuturo Foundation will hold an event aimed at consolidating the relations between Rome and New Delhi
It is a growing geopolitical weight that is acquiring New Delhi. It is with this awareness that, on Wednesday 2 April at 9.30, the conference “India and Italy. Routes and meeting between East and West” will be held in the Senate (Piazza Capranica 72). Organized by the Farefuturo Foundation, the event will host the interventions of various politicians and experts, including: the Senator of Fdi and Secretary General of Farefuturo Matteo Gelmetti, the Minister of Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, the Senator of Fdi Giulio Terzi of Sant’Agata, the representative for Italy at the Indian Chamber of Commerce Vas Shenay, the ambassador Francesco M. Talò, the General Maninner, by Leonardo International Spa Enrico Savio, the senator of Fdi Marco Scurria and the administrator of Intercos spa Gianandrea Ferrari. The conference is mainly conceived as an opportunity to further strengthen the already firm relationships between Rome and the New Delhi.
“The conference organized by Farefuturo on India represents an important opportunity to deepen the relations between Italy and India, two countries linked by a growing strategic, economic and cultural cooperation,” said Gelmetti a Panorama.it. “In recent years, the relationship between the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a strong impulse to this collaboration, transforming Italy into a key partner for India in Europe. Mutual trust and political harmony between the two leaders have led to new opportunities for businesses and a strengthening of bilateral dialogue in crucial sectors such as technology, defense and energy transition,” he continued.
“In this context, the India-Medio-Medio-Eastern-European economic corridor (IMEC) represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen commercial and infrastructure bonds between the two banks of the Indian Ocean and Europe. Italy, with its geographical position and its industrial ability, can play a central role in the development of this new global connection path, promoting investments, growth and innovation. Precious to discuss future prospects and to further strengthen a relationship intended to become increasingly strategic on the international scene, “concluded Gelmetti.
The strengthening of the relations between Rome and New Delhi is all the more significant in the light of the Chinese challenge and the US strategy. Recall that, in February, ways was received at the White House by Donald Trump. The American president is in fact intent on playing more and more on the bank with New Delhi to stem the geopolitical influence of Beijing. Stronger ties between Italy and India are therefore indirectly functional to a consolidation of relations between Rome and Washington. Exactly the one in which Farefuturo has been committed to for years now.
