Having celebrated Inter’s Scudetto, the race for the Conference League is over and with Pisa and Verona already relegated, here are the verdicts still to be written in the 90 minutes that close the championship.
Ninety minutes to play and three verdicts still to be written. Here’s what awaits Serie A in the last round of the championship. Once the Scudetto has been awarded to Inter and the relegations of Verona and Pisa have been determined, with Atalanta going to the Conference League without the possibility of reaching sixth place or in turn being overtaken by Bologna, there are still two Champions League passports at stake and a slot that sends them to Serie B.
A series of combinations to keep an eye on when experiencing the matches of the last round of the season. Those linked to the verdicts still in the balance were placed by the Lega Calcio Serie A all at the same time at 8.45pm on Sunday 24 May 2026.
Champions League sprint, here’s who qualifies if…
There are four teams in the running with two slots available. Whoever remains out is relegated to the Europa League without the risk of slipping further because Atalanta is too far away to threaten sixth place. With ninety minutes to go, Roma and Milan are inside at 70 points, while Como and Juventus would remain outside and find themselves two points below. Here are the various combinations, team by team:
Milan goes to the Champions League if:
- wins against Cagliari at San Siro;
- draw and Como and Juventus both don’t win or, if Como and Juventus win, Roma don’t win away to Verona;
- loses against Cagliari, but only if Como and Juventus do not win both their respective matches.
Roma goes to the Champions League if:
- wins in Verona rising to 73 points, unattainable for Juventus and Como;
- draw or lose in Verona but only if Como and Juventus do not win both their respective matches.
Como goes to the Champions League if:
- wins in Cremona and Roma doesn’t win;
- wins in Cremona and Milan loses;
- wins in Cremona and Milan draws and Juventus also wins because if they reached 71 points between Como, Milan and Juventus the Como players would be ahead of everyone in the separate standings;
Juventus goes to the Champions League if:
- wins the derby at Turin’s home ground and Roma or Milan don’t win (they draw or lose), as long as Como doesn’t win their match against Cremonese.
Salvation in a sprint, what does Lecce and Cremonese need to avoid relegation
The picture is much simpler in the lower area of the table where Pisa and Verona have already been relegated to Serie B several weeks ago and we are only waiting for the name of the third team that will accompany them in the second division. By scoring points against Torino, albeit with difficulty, Cagliari took cover. Therefore, the struggle is limited only to Lecce And Cremonese with the Salento team having a one-point advantage over the Grigiorossi and having to thank the last-gasp goal scored by Stulic against Sassuolo.
On the calendar there are Lecce-Genoa and Cremonese-Como. Lecce is safe if they achieve the same result (or better) than Cremonese. In the event of a tie on points (defeat for the Salento team and draw for the Lombard team) a play-off will be held without resorting to any form of separate ranking.
