The conclusions of the geneticist Carlo Previderé could reopen the case of the murder of Garlasco: the male DNA on nail fragments overlap with that of Andrea Semplio, already tied to the case
The investigations on the murder of Chiara Poggi, which took place in Garlasco on August 13, 2007, could be ready to take an important step forward thanks to new scientific evidence. The conclusions of the geneticist Carlo Previderé, commissioned by the Pavia prosecutor to analyze the crucial finds of the case, could represent a significant turning point. According to what has been revealed exclusively by AdnkronosForeseen has found traces of male DNA “perfectly superimposable” to that of Andrea Seveio, friend of the victim’s brother, who has long been linked to chance. Semve was previously associated with the genetic profile extracted from the defense of Alberto Stasi, definitively sentenced for the murder of Chiara Poggi.
The analysis of the nail fragments taken from the victim revealed traces of DNA which correspond to five men’s lines, one of which, “perfectly superimposable” to the seedable profile. This track was found on the fifth finger of the right hand and on the first and fourth finger of the left hand of Chiara. According to forecasts, the genetic profile of semium is compatible with the track found on these nail fragments, a discovery that could reopen the case and offer new perspectives on the matter.
In his 60 -page advice, the geneticist excluded that the genetic traces of other finds are attributable to semium or stasis. The tracks on the finds found are not compatible with the DNA of the other investigated subjects, raising questions about the author of the murder. In particular, the comparison of four of the five aplotypes obtained by the finds has made it possible to exclude that the traces are attributable to the male relatives of semium or stasis.
An interesting detail concerns the discovery of genetic traces on the nail fragments, which have been compared with the DNA previously taken from always by samples obtained in an unconventional way, such as a teaspoon, a cup and a bottle of water, used by the defense of Stasi to extract the genetic profile of the suspect. The genetic analysis of these samples has revealed a surprising compatibility with the tracks found on the hands of Chiara Poggi, especially on the first finger of the left hand and on the right hand.
Despite these new tests, the trace on the fragments of the fourth -finger nail of the victim’s left hand was excluded from being referable to always or stasis. This new information seems to confirm the possibility that there are still details not explored sufficiently in the reconstruction of the crime, highlighting the importance of new investigations.
In the context of these discoveries, the Pavia prosecutor’s office required further genetic insights, including the finds found in November 2023, such as cigarette butts, paper tissues and semium footprints found on the handle of his car. These elements could represent the key to solving one of the most controversial black chronicle of recent years.
The investigations, which seem to finally resume vigor, could lead to an evidentiary accident that will allow to examine new DNA samples, including those taken on March 13 in Semia. The next few weeks could reveal unexpected developments and open new paths to obtain justice for Chiara Poggi and his family.
The analysis of foreseen could mark the beginning of a new phase in the investigation into the Garlasco case, fueling the hope of those who still await definitive answers and justice for the victim of this tragic crime.
