The triangle fold, which recalls the geometries of the architecture of the Palazzo dell’Arte, is the distinctive element of the new liveries produced by OLDER Studio.
It’s called Style Codes and it is the new uniform identity of Triennale Milano. Presented last weekend, the image of the Palazzo dell’Arte staff was entrusted to Alessandra Facchinetti, a designer with experience in Miu Miu, Gucci, Moncler, Valentino and Tod’s, who explained “My concept of uniform for the Triennale goes beyond the uniformity of tradition, where identity and the valorisation of the coordinated image are lacking, in favor of a study of garments and accessories consistent with the imaginary and values of the institution. The uniform, as the etymology of the word suggests, not only distinguishes the person who wears it, but represents and consolidates the institution, in dialogue between function, practicality and aesthetics, in a language that goes beyond the role to become a code of everyday style. The uniform becomes a visual and tangible manifesto of the museum’s identity, a recognizable and significant element of connection with the visitor and of experience in shared spaces”. Moreover, the project, born within the fashion department of Triennale of which Luca Stoppini is scientific consultant, is part of the broader scenario of renewal that has involved the institution since 2020. “The project is part of a general path that intends to give value to the overall vision of Triennale. The curatorship does not only translate into exhibition activities, but the concept of the project, of creation is expressed in different languages”, explained Carla Morogallo, General Director of Triennale Milan, “In this context, the link between design and fashion is expressed through the conception and creation of clothes that represent the contemporary Triennale. The starting point of all our activities is archive research and in this case too it is from there that the first ideas were born, later developed with great skill by Alessandra Facchinetti. Historical memory always opens up to a dialogue with contemporaneity, with the urban dimension in which we live. The premise was the desire to communicate also through the care of clothes that express the attitude of Triennial, thanks to a refined, functional and distinctive design style code which expresses a sense of belonging and care consistent with the identity of the Triennale.” Born from the analysis of the Triennale photographic archive and the synthesis between workwear and Bauhaus-inspired design, the uniforms, produced by OLDER Studio, rewrite the visual identity of the cultural mediators, the guard staff, the Voce Triennale team and the Cucina Triennale and Terrazza Triennale staff. The leitmotif of the project is the pocket with a triangle fold which recalls the three-dimensionality and geometries of the architecture of the Palazzo dell’Arte.
