Between Guantanamo and India: Trump doctrine on immigration

Donald Trump’s tightness on illegal immigration continues. Tuesday, the White House confirmed that the first transfers of irregular immigrants began at the Guantanamo migrant center: a structure that, established in the early 90s, the current American administration is expanding with the aim of sending us the illegal immigrants considered more dangerous. It is in this perspective that the Pentagon has already sent 150 soldiers to the bay.

Not only that. Also Tuesday, El Salvador offered to retain in his prisons not only immigrants with criminal records expelled from the United States but also the prisoners in possession of American citizenship. The announcement came after the meeting between President Salvadore, Nayib Bukele, and the American secretary of state, Marco Rubio. The day before, Rubio himself had personally witnessed a repatriation of illegal immigrants, while he was in Panama City.In all this, Trump looks carefully to strengthening boundaries. In fact, he sent 1,500 additional soldiers to the southern border: frontier who, in the past few hours, was also visited by the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, who guaranteed the hard line against the drug signs, which have already been designated by the new president American as terrorist organizations. Meanwhile, under threat of duties, Canada and Mexico have agreed to strengthen controls to their borders with the United States. In the meantime, a plane with 104 expelled from the US has arrived in India a few hours ago: it is the longer repatriation to the longer distance so far conducted by the current American administration.

But Trump is adopting the hard line also on the US territory. The Department of Justice has started an investigation into a Sheriff Dem of the State of New York, who would have freedly put a clandestine with criminal records. At the same time, the head of the borders, Tom Homan, threatened to pursue New Jersey dem governor, Phil Murphy, after the latter had hinted that he had hosted an irregular migrant in his house. We remind you that Homan has literally declared war on the so -called “sanctuary city”: we are talking about those municipal administrations, that is, that they refuse to collaborate with the federal authorities in the fight against illegal immigration. In the meantime, the races in the meantime. On Monday, the police announced that they arrested 32 illegal immigrants in the county of Palm Beach (Florida), from Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Cuba at the end of January. and Nicaragua. Among the crimes they are accused are theft, robbery and possession of drugs. Recall that Homan has adopted the line of so -called “collateral arrests”: the precedence comes, yes, given to the illegal immigrants who are stained with crimes, but, during the raids, the other irregular immigrants who are found are not spared from arrest.
