The social card for food shopping is back for the fourth year. It does not need to be requested: ISEE and municipal lists count. Here’s who receives it, how to collect it and what you can buy.
It leaves from 4 November 2026 the first top-up of 500 euros on the card dedicated to you. It is the Poste Italiane prepaid card designed for families with ISEE up to 15 thousand euros. To find out if you are among the beneficiaries, simply consult the list published by your municipality, where the DSU protocol number appears instead of the names, i.e. the declaration you submit to obtain the ISEE. A second top-up of 500 euros is expected from April 2027for a total of 1,000 euros per family.

There is no need to apply: the beneficiaries are automatically identified by the INPS, starting from the ISEE already presented and with checks by the Municipalities. Residency in Italy, an ordinary ISEE that does not exceed 15 thousand euros and registration of all family members are required. They remain excluded families who already benefit from the inclusion allowance, purchasing card or other anti-poverty aid. Also excluded are those in which someone receives unemployment benefits (Naspi, Dis-Coll) or redundancy payments. Having an ISEE below the threshold, however, does not ensure the card: the funds are not enough for all families. If the cards do not cover the requests, families with at least three people and minor children move forward and, under equal conditions, those with the lowest ISEE.
How to know if you are on the list of beneficiaries of the Card Dedicated to you 2026
To find out if you are entitled to the card you must consult the list on your municipality’s websiteusually in the news or social services section. The lists are anonymous: instead of names there is the DSU protocol number. The code is shown at the top of the ISEE certificate and starts with INPS-ISEE-2026. Just look for it in the published document.
When the money arrives and where to collect the Card Dedicated to you 2026
The first credit on the Card Dedicated to you starts on November 4th. Those who already have the card from previous years and are still among the beneficiaries will use it again: just wait for the top-up. Anyone who receives it for the first time is notified by the Municipality and must go to an authorized post office, with a tax code and a valid document. Once you get the card you must make at least one purchase by December 16, 2026. Otherwise the card will be blocked and the contribution will be lost.

The money on the card They are used for shopping for essential foodstuffs in participating stores. No alcohol and, unlike in the past, no fuel.
However, there is an additional advantage: thanks to the ministry’s agreements with Federdistribuzione, Coop, Conad and Lidl, in the supermarkets of these chains there is a 15% discount, which is added to the offers already active.
What if you are not on the list? What to do and who to contact
Not seeing your number on the list doesn’t necessarily mean there was a mistake. It is best to first make sure that you have opened the final version of the list and that you have searched for the right protocol, particularly if there are multiple ISEE certifications. The reason for exclusion may be the priority given to larger families or an incompatibility with other measures, such as Inclusion Allowance, Purchasing Card, Naspi or redundancy fund. The Municipality cannot include new families and there is no request outside the deadline: the selection is up to INPS alone. In case of doubt it is better to ask for clarification at the social services desk or at an INPS office, bringing the ISEE certificate with the protocol number.
