«doing business means building value and lasting relationships»

The Roman entrepreneur talks about 25 years of career between Confindustria, major sporting events and his passion for the language of music.

Twenty-five years of experience in business, sport, music and social projects. Andrea Di Maso is a Roman entrepreneur and manager, former member of the Board of Directors of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Rome and Lazio and of the Council of Unindustria, author of several publications on economic policy, workplace safety and sports management. He has built his professional path by intertwining management, communication and events, with particular attention to institutional relations and the development of strategic projects. From his early training in the world of music to the leadership of companies and entrepreneurial initiatives, Di Maso represents a transversal managerial figure, capable of moving between different fields while maintaining a clear vision: creating economic and human value.

You have over twenty-five years of entrepreneurial experience. What was the most important lesson of this journey?

“Doing business means taking on responsibility and having the courage to look into the future. In recent years I have learned that the most important skill for an entrepreneur is to transform difficulties into opportunities. The market changes quickly and those who do business must know how to anticipate changes, investing in people and skills”.

His path also began very early in the world of music. How much did this experience influence your education?

“Music has always been a fundamental part of my life and a true laboratory for personal growth. I approached that world very young and learned what it means to work in creative and competitive contexts. For me, music has always been a way to communicate what I feel. When I manage to convey my emotions to the public and make them have fun or dream, I truly understand how powerful and special this language is. The discipline, teamwork and ability to innovate that I have learned from music have accompanied me in all my entrepreneurial projects.”

Over the years he has developed projects that have involved businesses, institutions, sport and culture. What role do relationships have in this journey?

“Relationships are fundamental. In my work I have always tried to build relationships based on trust and seriousness. Moving in institutional and entrepreneurial contexts requires credibility, respect for roles and the ability to dialogue. I strongly believe in the value of authentic relationships: they are the real capital on which to build solid projects in the long term”.

He has also worked on major sporting events and sports-related projects. What does this sector represent for a manager?

“I have dealt with major sporting events: from the Italian Tennis Internationals as Official Supplier for five consecutive years, to the Rugby Six Nations, up to the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of CONI. From 2020 to 2025 I also held the position of deputy vice-president of Ascoli Calcio. Sport is an extraordinary environment from a managerial point of view. It embodies values such as merit, discipline and the ability to work as a team. When managing sporting events or realities, the same must be applied business logic: planning, strategy and vision. This is why I consider the world of sport an important training ground for those who do management”.

What is the main challenge for those doing business in Italy today?

“We live in an era of great economic and technological transformations. Businesses must be increasingly capable of innovating and adapting to changes. But I believe that Italy has a great heritage of skills, creativity and entrepreneurial ability. If we manage to enhance these elements and invest in young people and training, we can continue to be competitive”.

Looking to the future, what contribution would you like to make to the Italian entrepreneurial system?

I deeply love my country and believe in the value of work and enterprise. I would like to continue developing projects that network skills, businesses and institutions, contributing to the economic and cultural growth of our system. I believe that the future is built through vision, responsibility and the ability to collaborate.”
