Goodbye to Pope Francis, here are his most famous phrases

A pope certainly “liberal” and appreciated by the left, but which on many themes dear to the Church, such as abortion, family or peace, had a much more traditional position.

The whole world mourns the disappearance of Pope Francis. The departure of the Supreme Pontiff combined in the Global Leader Cordog and religious personalities who usually have little or nothing to do with it. Whatever the judgment that is given to the pontificate of Francesco, undeniably it has been “revolutionary” from many points of view.

Starting from that famous “Brothers and sisters, good evening!”with whom Francesco greeted the crowd gathered in St. Peter immediately after his election to the papal throne on March 13, 2013. With those simple and colloquial words Francesco immediately understood that his pontificate would have been closer to the people, more “pop”, in short. And over the years there have been many releases of the Supreme Pontiff to confirm this new interpretation of the role of Pope.

As well as well known, Francesco belonged to the part of the reformists within Santa Romana Chiesa, the wing most open to modernity and to seek compromise with the current “spirit of time”. For example, Francesco’s openings to the reception of migrants, or homosexuals are well known. Openings that have received the strong applause of the Italian left (tendentially atheist). The significant interventions of the pontiff regarding the birth rate, abortion (on which he has always maintained a “traditionalist” line) and appeals to peace soon forgotten.

Here are some of the most significant sentences pronounced by Pope Francis:

“Jesus was also refugee”

“As we look at the Holy Family of Nazareth, when she is forced to get the refugee, we think of the drama of those migrants and refugees who are victims of refusal and exploitation”. Words taken from the Angelus of 29 December 2013, while the migratory crisis had recently broken out following the reversal of Gaddafi in Libya (which took place with NATO intervention). Here Francesco immediately made one of the central points of his pontificate clear: the opening to illegal immigration and reception.

“Who am I to judge?”

Famous phrase referring to homosexuals and also pronounced in the first year of pontificate, the complete phrase, which received the applause of the global left, recites: “If a person is gay and seek the Lord and has good will, but who am I to judge it?”.

“Being homosexuals is not a crime, but it’s a shame”

Pope Francis’ position on homosexuality has often been exploited by the left. In particular, the aforementioned phrase, which has always been presented Tronca, being homosexuals is not a crime, and we would miss it, but according to the Christian doctrine “it is a shame”, as the Holy Father in January 2023 in an interview with the Associated Press said in January 2023.

“There is already too much froculinous”

“Stolen” phrase in June 2024 in a meeting behind closed doors with the Roman priests. Pope Francis referred to the high presence of people with homosexual tendencies within the seminars. The phrase of the Supreme Pontiff immediately became a meme, while triggering the applause of many and the wrath of the left LGBTQIA+.

“Abortion is a murder and the doctors who lend themselves to do so”

Also on this theme the position of the pontiff remained in “traditionalism”. Pope Francis has repeatedly reiterated his firm condemnation of abortion. The most striking phrase about it is certainly the aforementioned one, pronounced by the Pope on 29 September last year.

“We have to beat Italy a little: there is a culture where it is favored to have dogs or cats and not children”

Also in September last year, the Pope wanded our country for the very low birth rate, the phrase was pronounced during a hearing with young economists of a foundation. The phrase came spontaneously to Francesco, as often happened to him, seeing between the audiences of the parents with their children said: «I see that there are some children there, this is beautiful, in a culture where it is privileged to have little dogs or cats and not children. We have to beat Italy a little! ». With these spontaneous words Francesco has highlighted the problem of denatality, and above all his causes, which even before they are economic.

“NATO has barking at the gates of Russia”

We report the complete phrase, pronounced in May 2022 in an interview with Corriere della Sera: «Perhaps the barking of NATO on the door of Russia led the head of the Kremlin to react badly and to unleash the conflict. A anger that I can’t say if it has been caused, but facilitated perhaps yes ». With this simple sentence, the Pope has shown an understanding of geopolitics much greater than the many European “bellies” politicians.

In short, Pope Francis was certainly an open and modern pontiff, who has always received the applause of the local left, left who, however, has always been damaged to ignore him on the themes in which the position of the pontiff was colliding with his agenda, as on abortion, on the family and on the research in peace in the Ukrainian conflict.
