At the Grand Palais, pink willows and giant mushrooms create a magical set to welcome Chanel’s first Haute Couture collection designed by Matthieu Blazy.
In a scenic enchanted forest with pink willows and giant mushrooms, Chanel’s Haute Couture, the first collection designed by Matthieu Blazy, celebrates the profound lightheartedness of poetry with dresses made of impalpable fabrics, which move as if responding to the wind, as if wanting to translate the idea of absolute lightness into tailoring. Which is sublimated by the nuances of colors inspired by nature and its creatures and by the sophisticated workmanship of the Maison. A debut that elaborates not so much a personal journey of the designer but a new path for the brand in view of that balance, between sartorial rigor and powerful femininity, which is at the basis of the identity strength of the House. The silhouettes appear truly wearable, far from the theatricality to which high fashion has accustomed us and many details are signs of tangible elegance. “Haute Couture is the very soul of Chanel: it is the foundation and full expression of the Maison”, explained the creative director, “These clothes tell as much about the wearer as the designer. It is the clothes worn that tell a true story, a story in its own right and an emotional resonance, offering women a canvas on which to tell their own story”.
