In Vinitaly, Tuscany looking for new opportunities

Promotion, internationalization and change are the keywords of 2025 Vinitaly, staged in Verona from 6 to 9 April.

The wine lives a time when it is at the center of a heated debate, between health concerns, requests for transparency on labels, geopolitical duties and the evolution of consumption, also driven by the rise of de -de -de -rulled wines.

About 4,000 companies and operators from Italy and from over 140 countries around the world are expected to debate and discuss these issues for a total of about 30,000 international buyers.

Among the most numerous delegations of the super operators selected by the non -EU area, in pole position those by the USA and Canada, followed by China, the United Kingdom, Brazil, but also by India, Singapore, Japan and South Korea. While for the European continent they excel Germany, Switzerland, Northern Europe and the Balkan area.

Italian wine exports closed a positive 2024, recording 8.1 billion euros and a +5% compared to 2023: the result comes after the wake of the past accordion effect on the purchases of the post Covid-19 and the same accordion effect that the warehouses have for the uncertainty generated by the duties. To compensate for the effects of US duties, we must focus on alternative markets as South American, Balkan and Asian countries, Japan and China, but also Russia and Ukraine could be an opportunity to cease the conflict. The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, whose non -indigenous population appreciates Italian wines, have an unexpressed potential, while the segment of non -alcohol wines grows by 60%: it is certainly the fashion of the moment and it must be understood if it will be a new stable market or a passing fashion.

The Tuscan themes will be: the sustainability for the black rooster, the parish churches of Montepulciano’s nobleman, the Terraelectae del Chianti Rufina, the Chianti Lovers with Gambero Rosso, the new Brunello map and the higher mention of the Morellino.

In conclusion, it is undeniable that the wine represents the most authentic ambassador of a territory. Its perfumes and flavors tell stories and legends that intertwine with local traditions, making each chalice a true essence of the land from which it comes. Even thousands of kilometers away, a sip of good wine manages to transmit the cultural and historical richness of each individual region. Therefore, while we prepare to live the 57th edition of Vinitaly in Verona, remember that each bottle is an open window on a world full of emotions and meanings, an invitation to explore new opportunities and enhance our extraordinary wine inheritance.
