Lautaro Martinez, all the records with the Inter shirt (of which he is the third scorer in history)

The Argentine striker is writing the history of Inter in an era in which players never stop in the same team. Here are all the numbers of Lautaro Martinez with the Inter shirt.

The first time on 29 September 2018 against Cagliari. Then another 170 screams of joy for as many goals, a series that has not yet ended and which will project Lautaro Martinez even further into the history of Inter. How much? Time will tell, even if the numbers of those who precede him in the all-time top scorers with the Nerazzurri shirt are merciless and make reaching Peppino Mezza and Alessandro Altobelli an almost unachievable feat.

The goal in Reggio Emilia against Sassuolo propelled Lautaro Martinez into third place among Inter’s all-time scorers. Before everyone is the legend, Meazzaat 284 followed by Altobelli with 209. Then the couple destined to split soon: Martinez And Boninsegna with 171. Behind him are other champions who have written the history of the club such as Sandro Mazzola (162) and further down.

Lautaro Martinez is a player who is marking an era at a time when it is difficult to imagine footballers staying in the same team for so long to rewrite the record books. Landing in Milan in July 2018, torn away from the competition of Atletico Madrid who had already made him undergo a medical, taken from Racing Avellaneda by a certain Milito (speaking of courses and appeals), Lautaro did everything very quickly.

It arrived as a reserve Mauro Icardi but almost immediately it became clear that he was destined to dethrone him on the pitch and in the hearts of the fans. Absolute debut on 19 August 2018 against Sassuolo, speaking of closing circles. First goal in September against Cagliari and European debut in the Champions League against Barcelona on 24 October. The cups are the only whim that the Argentine, world champion with his national team, has not yet had: three finals, all lost.

Apart from his first season, he has always scored double figures both overall and in the league. He was a reserve, he quickly took ownership and then the captain’s armband. He could have gone elsewhere but he always stayed, partly because the conditions weren’t fully created, like when Barcelona targeted him, and partly because of his desire to stay where he feels comfortable.

He was top scorer in Serie A only once, in 2024, with 24 goals: the year of the second star’s championship to add to the one won under Conte’s guidance in 2021. The best year for net production was 2022/2023 closed with the final in Istanbul: 28 goals in all and the regret of that right ball not being finalized against Manchester City.

He wisely divided his scores: 129 in the championship, 25 in the Champions League and 3 in the Europa League, 8 in the Italian Cup, 4 in the Italian Super Cup and 2 in the Club World Cup. He hasn’t finished updating his personal haul, because if it’s true that Meazza remains unattainable, it’s equally undeniable that Altobelli could be targeted. 38 goals and celebrations missing, at the current rate a couple of years and nothing more. If the market, physical condition and luck will assist him, Lautaro’s novel at Inter has not yet reached the last chapter.
