The maison’s journey through contemporary design stops in Sweden with the work of Julia Hetta and in India with the collages of Bharat Sikka
Two new chapters are added to Fashion Eye, the photo album collection by Louis Vuitton. Unveiled in preview during the latest edition of Paris Photo, the new portfolios celebrate the art of travel through the lenses of the new generation of reporters. Two destinations were chosen: Sweden and India. In detail, the Scandinavian country is told through Julia Hetta’s polaroids, which document the wild and poetic nature of the pole; India, on the other hand, focuses attention on the Rajasthan region with the shots and collages of Bharat Sikka, which challenge the myths and stereotypes of a continent nation. Not only that, each Fashion Eye title is in itself a work of art to collect: each type of paper or binding, layout and often even the printing technique used, adapt to the artisan tradition and adapt to the title in question. A book is above all the work of an author, a designer and a typographer.
Objects for image lovers, but also for enthusiasts of the contemporary, the Louis Vuitton series tells the story of the journey, a central theme in the history of the maison, through the gaze and sensitivity of the most interesting photographers, ranging from big names to emerging artists, who offer new and never banal angles on avant-garde and research.
