Meloni: “Real wages grow”

On the eve of May 1st, the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni intervenes with a video message to claim the results of the government action on the wages front. “Real wages grow, in contrast to what happened in the past,” he said after the meeting of the Council of Ministers.

In his intervention, Melons He traced a comparison with the recent past: «Between 2013 and 2022, while in the rest of Europe the purchasing power increased by 2.5%, in Italy it decreased by 2%. From October 2023, however, the trend has reversed ».

According to the premier, Italian families are recovering purchasing power thanks to a “better, and not worse, salary dynamic than that of the rest of Europe”.

Meloni recognized that the work to be done remains “very, very”, but stressed that “the numbers that in the end tells the reality are encouraging”. An optimistic message, launched on a symbolic date, which aims to mark a discontinuity with respect to previous governments.
