Milan and Juventus, arm in arm victories: Amorim and Spalletti out of the crisis trap

In Udine and Lecce the two big names in difficulty redeem themselves: now the ranking is less scary. There is no time to relax, however, because the midweek round and the weekend of the big matches loom.

On the Sunday of the cascade of goals and emotions, the one that consecrated Inter’s ability to come back from any situation as if they enjoyed raising the level of difficulty at every opportunity, the victories of Milan and Juventus weigh heavily. Without mincing too many words, Udine and Lecce represented very dangerous traps for Amorim and Spalletti who emerged from the European week with a thousand doubts or with broken bones.

The three points could have been enough, given the starting conditions. The Rossoneri and Bianconeri added comforting performances albeit with some moments of decline as per tradition this season. The truth, however, is that at no time did Udinese and Lecce give the impression of being able to slip into the insecurities of two teams still convalescing and under construction so that the standings are now less scary and allow us to look forward to the midweek round with more confidence.

Not even forty-eight hours and we will all be back on the pitch, Spalletti expected at Marassi by a Genoa team that is freeing itself from the red zone and Amorim at home with Bologna who have savored the taste of the second victory since the start of the championship. Translated: attention must be kept high because the repercussions are around the corner and the bonuses have long been spent. At the end of the week there are the Madonnina derby and Juventus-Napoli, just for fun.

Milan was dragged by Pulisic and Modric, the two totems of a team that had lost its identity and character in Europe. With them it is also easier to make the rest work on a Sunday in which injuries had eliminated (not without controversy) Rabiot, Moreira and Gila. The absences were not felt also due to the demerit of Udinese, who had never been so dull and submissive in the Runjaic era: sixth defeat in a row, very close to the relegation zone.

In Juventus, richer in the infirmary than on the pitch, McKennie and the revived Douglas Luiz left their mark, scoring his first Italian goal: better late than never. Spalletti complained about a certain decline in the second half despite not having risked anything. He has lined up once again, the second in a row, Kolo Muani and Woltemade together from the start: they work but until the January transfer window he will remain a reserve option and not without contraindications.
