There was talk of pressure from the FIGC, of anonymous and exposed reports. None of this. We tell you what really happened
Fabio Paratici he came out of the restricted list of possible sports directors of Milan Not for pressure from the FIGC and not even because they are affected by friendly fire, read external interference. If the former Juventus manager, a report closed in 2021 and subsequently overwhelmed by the capital gain, will not have an office at Casa Milan, the reason is to be found exclusively in the choice of the Rossoneri club that he no longer considers his profile as suitable for the mission for which he had been probed: fill the gap in the managerial organigram, seemed evident in these two seasons post dismissal of Paolo Maldini and Frederick Massara.
A normal dynamic in a research phase of the right man, scouting the journalistic synthesis that accompanies the skimming of the candidates by the AD Giorgio Furlani. Yet around the rejection of Paratici, dietrologies and readings have developed then by the facts. The first, the alleged report in writing or in other form that the Adise (Association of Italian Sports Directors) chaired by Beppe Marotta would have addressed to the number one of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina to report the negotiation asking to intervene. Never formulated, never received, never been on nobody in Football Federation, officially denied by the same association.
It is true, however, that in the middle of the negotiation, Milan himself, by voice of President Paolo Scaroni, considered appropriate to ask for Lumi in Gravina on the existence of any problems of a sporty legal nature in dealing with a card still inhibited. A courteous phone call, in which the president of the FIGC did nothing but say how much he would have publicly reiterated and that is that there is no bond to put a disqualified manager under contract, only to know that the same “cannot operate” until the end of the disqualification. Not because there is particular attention, but because they provide the rules, known by everyone: members and companies. Not a form of direct or indirect pressure.
The reality is that a certain activism by Paratici has tickled attention in the world of Italian football and that some colleague – does not Beppe Marotta to be clear – asked the FIGC in personal form. With what effect? And here we come to the third and last point of this story that has dragged for several weeks. From what it turns out, the Bureau of the FIGC has never made any reports to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, neither in writing and official nor unofficially. And it does not seem that not even the authors of the information requests have ever taken the next step.
In short, Paratici and Milan is a marriage that has not been consumed because at the end of the period of knowledge (engagement) the spark did not start. It was told as if the publications to be exhibited were ready, thesis that certainly did not do the good of Milan and can be served to the same paratici to promise with force on the Italian market in view of the disqualification expiration. After which, as it is right to be, one of his return to the system in the system must not be a taboo or fear anyone, not having been radiated but only inhibited for 30 months. But it is equally peaceful, given the weight of his name and that of the club with which he spoke, that the combination of Milan could not go unnoticed.
