Successful splashdown in the Pacific Ocean for the Artemis II mission, returning from a historic flyby of the Moon. The Orion capsule landed off the coast of California, where the four astronauts – Jeremy Hansen, Christina Koch, Victor Glover and Reid Wiseman – were recovered and transferred by helicopter to the support ship. According to NASA, the crew is “happy and healthy”. “Everything we have heard from the surgeons confirms that they are well and ready to return to Houston,” said flight director Rick Henfling. During the mission, which lasted about ten days, the four astronauts worked in perfect harmony. “As a group they demonstrated extraordinary coordination,” noted Lori Glaze, Artemis Programs Manager. For the space agency this is a decisive step: “The road to the lunar surface is open. This time we are back to stay”, said Amit Kshatriya (source Ansa Video).
