The US vice -president: “With Meloni also a comparison on trade with the EU”
“It is a pleasure to welcome the Vice -President of the United States to Palazzo Chigi, JD Vance, whom I hadn’t seen for a long time …” Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said with a smile, opening the institutional meeting with a note of humor.
“We had an excellent interview yesterday in Washington” added Meloni, referring to the recent bilateral comparison.
In his speech in front of the press, Vance stressed: “We will face several themes during the meeting. In particular I will update the premier on the performance of the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, a theme we had already discussed in the past. There is a climate of cautious optimism”.
The American vice president also mentioned also to the commercial dimension, anticipating that the interview will also include economic relations between the United States and the European Union.
