The WeFly patrol! Team protagonist in Milan with the initiative organized with Aero Club of Milan and the support of the Air Force. The aim: to share the wonder of flight with other disabled people
A special day featuring inclusiveness, Saturday 18 April, with an event that will take place at the Bordoni Bisleri airport in Bresso (Milan) thanks to Wefly! Team, the only patrol in the world in which two of the three pilots are people with mobility difficulties, and at the Pilot for a day day, organized in collaboration with Aeroclub Milan and the participation ofAir Force. The event is dedicated to promoting flying for disabled people and «Dare to fly» is the motto the Wefly patrol believes in! who, through flying baptisms and participation in motivational meetings in schools and associations, makes their experience available to encourage in everyone, disabled and otherwise, the desire to work hard to realize their desires.
Who makes up WeFly! Team
These are days that the patrol, founded in 2007, periodically organizes, alternating them with performances in the Airshows to which it is invited in Italy and abroad. The WeFly! Team is made up of Alessandro Palerileader of the group, quadriplegic since 1987, Marco Cherubinileft wingman, paraplegic since 1995, and since Walter Mondaniable-bodied pilot and expert in aeronautical construction. Alessandro and Marco, not using their legs, fly their planes only with their hands thanks to a special control that combines the control of the rudder and engine of their planes in a single lever, a system designed and created by Alessandro himself, an aerospace engineer. The training supervisor is Erich Kustatscherinstructor with over thirty thousand flight hours; the speaker of the training is Pino Di Feopilot, journalist and officer of the Selected Reserve of the Air Force.
The link with the Air Force and with the astronauts
The WeFly! Team, testimonial ofNational Association of Disabled Drivers «Baroni Rotti» based in Castiglion Fiorentino (AR), brings the Italian tricolor to the most important air shows around the world, and is the spokesperson for a message of inclusiveness: with due commitment, all barriers can be overcome and dreams, even the most difficult, can become reality.
The Team is twinned with the 46th Air Brigade of the Air Force and collaborates, when necessary, with astronauts Samantha Cristoforetti, Luca Parmitano and Maurizio Cheli, as well as with space agencies and institutions. On March 6, 2026 the three WeFly! airplanes Team, together with the Cap-10 aircraft of Paolo Pocobellithe only Italian disabled professional pilot, had the honor of opening the Milan-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games by flying over the Verona Arena with the colors of the International Paralympic Committee.
