New owner for Palazzo Taverna in Milan: possible luxury turning point and transfer for illustrious tenants, including Adriano Galliani
Will it be rudely evicted? Palazzo Taverna Medici del Vascelloa historic Milanese building between via Montenapoleone and via Manzoni, has recently changed owners, and its tenants (among which illustrious names stand out) risk having to move. Illustrious, yes, because among them there is also a giant like Adriano Gallianione of the greatest managers in the history of Italian football, one of the greatest architects of Milan’s footballing fortunes. Starting from 2022, in fact, Silvio Berlusconi’s historic right-hand man had rented a luxury apartment inside the building.
The new owner of Palazzo Taverna
The building has a very ancient originbut was extensively renovated in the 16th century. It consists of 8 apartments on 3 floors, with 169 m2 of garages and cellars. A plaque is affixed to the facade, in memory of some events that have shaped the history of the city. Here the War Committee of the insurgents was formed and, later, the Provisional Government of Milan during the Five Days, when the armistice proposed by Marshal Radetzky was rejected.
Until the end of last year, the property belonged to the Marchesa Rossella Manzone, who inherited it in 2023. The new buyer, who took it over for the sum of 52.5 million euros, is José Auriemo Neto, 49-year-old entrepreneur originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil. We are talking about the manager of Jhsf, one of the most important Brazilian holdings in the luxury sector including hotels, residences and shopping centres.
Let’s try to understand the dimensions of the new buyer a little better. In 2009, Neto signed exclusive partnership agreements with Hermès and Jimmy Choo, and inaugurated several stores in a shopping center in Jhfs. Subsequently, in 2012, a strong bond with Valentino was born, with the opening of some stores in Brazil. Navigating towards the present, in 2024 Jhfs boasts a turnover of approximately 280 million euros and a profit of 136 million.
The possible new project in Milan
Considering the CV of the new owner, it is hypothesized that Palazzo Taverna could become a luxury hotel. But the last word has not yet been said. Neto has already tasted the potential of luxury catering in Italy: during the summer of 2025, the Brazilian entrepreneur, together with other partners, started the construction of a 50-60 room hotel, 30 private villas with beach club, spa and marina in Sardinia (in Porto San Paolo, opposite the island of Tavolara).
The hypothesized project, before starting, will be forced to deal with its famous tenants. Galliani had signed a private agreement with the former owner, which allowed him to live in the apartment until 30 June 2026. After the deed signed in January 2026 between the marquise and Neto, however, the Brazilian entrepreneur will now decide the fate of the tenants, including Galliani.
