In the ATP 500 in Austria Jannik beats Bublik in two sets with a practice match and will now face the Australian who eliminated Matteo
There wasn’t the show he gave together with Flavio Cobolli on Thursday evening, but Jannik Sinner confirms his great moment and enters the semi-final of the Apt 500 in Vienna. In the quarterfinals the South Tyrolean has overtook the Russian Bublikwho he never allowed to express his imaginative tennis. The two are very good friends and at the end of the match with a smile Bublik hugged the Italian who almost apologized to him for having beaten him so clearly. Sinner dominated once again demonstrating all his improvements on serve, so much so Bublik only scored 5 points on the blue’s serve throughout the match. Service and return are Jannik’s winning weapons who managed the match by breaking Bublik’s serve twice, once in each set, enough to close the match with a double 6-4.
De Minaur eliminates Berrettini and finds Jannik
Now Sinner will face in the semi-final Alex De Minaur with which he has a record of 19 victories and no defeats. The Australian beat Matteo Berrettini in the quarter-final that opened the day for the Italian tennis players in Vienna. The blue appeared very tired after the marathon the previous day (three hours on court) and in the first set she was unable to stem the Australian’s game, losing 6-1. Then Berrettini reacted by holding his own against De Minaur and taking him to the tie-break of the second set. But the forehand, Berrettini’s best shot, stopped working and tiredness took over. At the fifth match point De Minaur closed 7-6 thus obtaining the fortieth victory of the season on hard courts, he is the player who has obtained the most in 2025. But now he will have to deal with Sinner.
