Sofia Goggia regains victory in the Soldeu super G and consolidates her lead in the specialty World Cup rankings thanks to the rather disappointing seventh place achieved by Robinson who is chasing her. After the excellent third place in the downhill, the girl from Bergamo confirmed herself in excellent condition by winning today’s race. Fifth place for Laura Pirovano: “I’m happier than yesterday, I felt better and skied better. But I’m happy. Me in fifth place? That’s fine. I’m proud of the result. That little bit is missing and it will come. I’ll keep trying.” Eighth place for the Olympic champion Federica Brignone, appeared quite satisfied after the suffering of the past few days. “Identical times with Sofia in the final, explained Federica, but at the start I pay for the jumps because I fear I’ll feel the pangs. But I’m calm and I’m doing what I like. I’m happy”.

The return to success brought a smile back to Sofia Goggia’s face: “SI’m really happy, I had a good race overall, within a very solid weekend. I think that between yesterday and today the difference wasn’t much, I pushed harder but it was above all the different strategy in wall entry to launch today. I had a great race, all on the attack even in the two points where it was necessary to be more careful. Although when I crossed the finish line I wasn’t so sure I could windue to a couple of scratches on the wall. Yesterday I was very aware that there had been something wrong in the central section: having fixed that detail led me to win“. The objective of the crystal ball that is missing from Goggia’s bulletin board is approaching: “I’m happy with my performances in Super-G: I think it’s the result of a lot of work done in giant slalom too, in this discipline which is the perfect combination of technique and speed. However, reality says that we need to stay on track: Tuesday we are already leaving towards Val di Fassa and there will be many races in the space of a few weeks. The specialty cup remains a dream and I maintain my concentration day by day to try to make it happen“.
