The Garlasco crime arrives in the theater. After the sold out in Naples, in June in Milan

Conceived and hosted by Mediaset journalist Giuseppe Brindisi. June 4th at the Arcimboldi: on stage the lawyer De Rensis, the “hyena” De Giuseppe and the director of “Gente” Brindani

“My name is doubt, I am called into question when uncertainties are missing. I am asked to fill the gaps, to fix what doesn’t add up, not to note that it doesn’t add up. This puts me in difficulty. I’m never comfortable, I’m never simple. I’m told to become a signature at the bottom of a decision that in reality has already been taken. There isn’t proof, but there are many clues. Clues far from logic and internal belief. I can work with the clues but I can’t do it if those clues must necessarily exist even though to make them converge. I am the place that if the contradictions remain such they must be accepted. When I am asked to close my eyes to the lack of logic I remain firm. Not out of obstinacy but out of responsibility. But if even I, born to doubt, stop reasoning then there is no one left for the state and for the life of a citizen”. It’s one of the steps of Giuseppe Brindisi, Mediaset journalist, creator and host of the theatrical show which debuted in Naples and which will stop at the theater on 4 June Arcimboldi of Milan. “It could be you – the Garlasco case”. The idea for the show was born precisely from the doubt that Brindisi asked himself. On stage with the journalist on stage are the lawyer Antonio De Rensis, one of Alberto Stasi’s defenders, Alessandro De Giuseppejournalist from Le Iene who followed the Garlasco case step by step and the director of Gente Umberto Brindani.

Because the show

After having filled the pages of newspapers, both paper and online, and monopolized the living rooms of television talk shows, Chiara Poggi’s crime makes its way among the red velvet armchairs. The show does not address the issues of the ongoing investigation. Instead, it retraces what led to the conviction of Alberto Stasi. “The event brings to the stage the dynamics of the television program ‘It could be you’, transforming an unsolved or controversial crime case into a public analysis with the guests in discussionAt the end of the 3 hour show, Brindisi in the guise of “doubt” leaves the audience with a provocation: “Alberto Stasi has been in prison for 3772 days, how many of you fear that an innocent person is in prison? I am the doubt and from tonight I am sure that I am also your doubt”. Garlasco’s crime has been talked about for more than a year on all TV channels, the event occurred on 13 August 2007 and the show starts from Stasi’s sentence and his long stay in prison, also analyzing other sensational judicial errors that occurred in Italy. Guilty beyond reasonable doubt is the sentence that every judge must evaluate before issuing a conviction. Did it really go like this for Stasi? The program Brindisi leads us to think about all the events involved in a trial that has split public opinion.
