At Tuttofood, Italy promoted in the international test. From Barilla to Altograno by Molino Casillo, all the new features on show in Milan
On May 11th, the curtain rises. It is not the usual comedy or the usual tragedy, we are not in imperial Rome or in Athens during the Peloponnesian War. Yet, Tuttofood 2026 has a lot of theatrical spectacle – in the positive, spectacular sense. Milan is the Italian capital of business, but also of fashion. Both of these elements come together in the pavilions of Rho Fiera, generating a creative and avant-garde environment. Thousands of food & beverage brands from the Italian scene and beyond, traditional and innovative. In short, the food fair opened under the banner of “there is something for all tastes”.
The news from Tuttofood, from Barilla to Molino Casillo
To begin with, Barilla has presented two new pasta formats in recent weeks: i Curlswith a seductive and twisted shape that is captivating in aesthetics and excellent in functionality. The deep grooves and the rough surface, obtained thanks to a special bronze drawing exclusive to Barilla, envelop and retain every drop of seasoning, guaranteeing excellent stability of the sauce. And then the Big Wheelsa very particular limited edition format inspired by the world of Formula One, combining taste with design.
The brand is also of considerable importance Altograno by Molino Casillo, a leading Italian company in wheat milling. The result of years of research and the innovative Circular Processing method (now an international patent of the group), it is based on a method which, during milling, recovers the precious proteins of the wheat germ. The result is a genuine and highly nutritious flour that offers a natural source of proteins and fibre, 100% wheat without the addition of additives. A product that combines health benefits with an authentic taste, ideal for bread, pizza, pasta and pastries.
The new face of Caffè Borbone and VOGA
Caffè Borbone also presented itself at Tuttofood with some important news. On the one hand the ground coffeewhich projects the company into a new strategic segment within the domestic market. In fact, the product was created for the moka ritual, which is still the most widespread preparation method in Italian homes today, and stands out for its accessible quality that enhances the most sensorial aspects within a cup: aroma, scent and intensity. On the other hand, the innovative line of Compostables, which represent an extension in the single-portion sector, with more ecological solutions for the management of the finished product, which can be disposed of as organic waste.
VOGA is a brand that brings with it a very particular vision of drinking. Drink with style, elegance, naturalness and personality. Launched in the United States over twenty years ago, where it has conquered an international audience sensitive to style and new trends, the brand arrives in Italy with a clear and contemporary idea: to bring this innovation in the world of wine to a traditionalist country like Italy. A distinctive element of this vision is the cylindrical bottle of Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOCwhich goes beyond the classic canons of wine to approach the world of design.
Since the time for the aperitif, and subsequently for dinner, is approaching, we hope that our advice will be useful in quenching your hunger and thirst. Moving from one stand to another, browsing the products and chatting with managers and industry experts, four days have already passed. At Rho Fiera it is May 14th, and it is now evening. The pavilions empty, the crowd dissipates. The curtain closes, but the good food and good memories remain. Looking forward to next year.
