From the subway to Central Park

Since May 26, New York has been transformed into the stage of a surreal Roman invasion. Centurions in armor have appeared in several iconic spots of the city engaged in the most unlikely daily New York activities: on the subway, in Central Park, on a skateboard along the avenues of Manhattanin the crowd at a baseball game or while eating hot dogs on the street. An ironic and unexpected presence that generated curiosity and interest among New Yorkers, who playfully interacted with the new arrivals.

The highlight of the initiative was May 28th and 29th, when it made its entrance in New York the Emperor of Pinsa, transported aboard an authentic Roman litter accompanied by her army of centurions. A real urban stunt with a strong visual impact that crossed the city announcing the arrival of the Pinsa Romana in the United States.

Not just New York

But not just entertainment. Di Marco’s centurions toured Manhattan aboard Italian Vespas distributing vouchers for free pinsa tastings to passers-by and inviting them to celebrate National Pinsa Day. The company that codified the original recipe and spread its culture throughout the world now aims to make it a new lifestyle phenomenon in the USA too.

The activation was amplified by creators, influencers and local media who documented the event on social media, transforming New York into the global center of pinsa celebrations. Not only that, Di Marco also brought the centurions’ experience to Los Angeles and San Francisco through video content created with Artificial Intelligence and amplified by social media, and Pinsa Di Marco will also have a dedicated kiosk at Eataly Flatiron for a monthand Pinsa will have a strong presence in Eataly stores throughout the United States.
