The second season of “Nectar of the Gods” arrives on January 21, 2026: new mysteries, family challenges and a journey into the heart of the rarest wines in the world
It’s time to fill the glasses: “Nectar of the Gods” returns with a second season that promises to be even more intense, more elegant and more dangerous. Apple TV has released the trailer of the new chapter of the Franco-Japanese dramedy which combines gastronomy, fine wines and family tensions in a story that travels between continents, memories and unresolved wounds. The series, based on the New York Times bestselling manga of the same name, has already won over audiences and critics, earning an International Emmy Award and the status of a small global obsession.
Camille and Issei face the most difficult mystery
The eight-episode second season debuts Jan. 21 with a weekly release through March 11. At the center of the story there are still them: Camille (Fleur Geffrier) and Issei (Tomohisa Yamashita), brothers by blood and rivals by destiny, forced to face a new challenge. The mission is one of those that mark lives: discover the origin of the most prized wine in the world, an enigma so dense and elusive that not even Alexandre Léger, the legendary father, had been able to decipher.
Their investigation begins as a question of inheritance, but soon turns into a search for the truth that spans centuries, countries and memories that some would have preferred to leave buried. Forgotten stories, underground rivalries and family secrets begin to emerge as Camille and Issei chase a wine that is more myth than reality. On this journey, the question becomes inevitable: how much are we willing to sacrifice to discover what truly binds us?
A series celebrated as a rarity
Since its debut, “Nectar of the Gods” has been received with global enthusiasm. Critics and viewers have called it “an unusual, elegant and extremely entertaining drama”, “a hidden gem”, “tense, shocking and hypnotic”. The maximum score from critics and Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes have consolidated the series as one of the most sophisticated and surprising proposals on the international television scene.
This combination of aesthetics, rhythm, writing and world-building has transformed a story about wine into a true emotional odyssey, capable of fascinating both experts and those who are only now approaching this refined universe.
A high profile international production
Produced by Legendary Entertainment and created by Les Productions Dynamic with 22H22 and Adline Entertainment, the series bears the directorial signature of Oded Ruskin and the creative signature of Tadashi Agi, award-winning author of the original manga illustrated by Shu Okimoto. The series was born under the umbrella of Kodansha Ltd., a Japanese publishing giant that has inspired “impossible” stories since 1909 and which gave life to milestones such as AKIRA, Attack on Titan and Ghost in the Shell.
