INPS, allowances for service-related disabled people also rise up to 1000 euros. The increases will be automatic and the arrears accrued since January will also arrive
A richer June for some Italian pensioners. In fact, with the next payment of pensions, the increases provided for by the 2025 Budget Law will come into effect, with automatic credits and arrears which may exceed 1000 euros for some categories of disabled people due to service. The objective is to strengthen economic support for the most vulnerable categories, in a context of inflation which affects the purchasing power of Italian families. For thousands of pensioners, therefore, the June payslip will represent not only a monthly increase, but also an important economic recovery thanks to the arrears accumulated in the first months of 2026.
Pension increases June 2026: who is entitled to them
The increases are not available to all pensioners, but exclusively to the so-called “great invalids for service”, that is, people who have suffered very serious illnesses or impairments during military service or during activities considered “assimilated” by the State. By “similar service” we mean, for example, tasks carried out in the armed forces, in the police force, in civil protection or in other public activities recognized by law as comparable to military service for the purposes of social security protection. These are pensioners who, due to the injuries they have suffered, have lost all or part of their self-sufficiency and often require continuous assistance in daily life. The beneficiaries include people suffering from particularly disabling pathologies, such as absolute bilateral blindness, limb amputations, serious lesions of the central nervous system, neuropsychic disorders that require constant surveillance or serious motor or visual deficits directly linked to the service performed.
How much do checks increase: amounts and arrears
The most significant increase concerns disabled people included in categories considered “high”. For these pensioners the monthly allowance goes from 878 euros to 1,000 euros, with an increase of 122 euros per month. Since the measure is retroactive, starting from 1 January 2026, arrears accrued in the first five months of the year will also be paid in the June payslip. In practice, in addition to the new monthly amount, approximately 610 additional euros will arrive.
Increases are also expected for categories defined as “medium range”. For these pensioners the allowance rises from 439 euros to 500 euros per month, with an increase of 61 euros per month. The arrears from January to May will also be credited here, for a total sum of approximately 305 euros.
When the June payment arrives of pensions
Payment of June 2026 pensions will start on Monday 1 June for those who receive the credit to a bank or postal account. For those who collect their pension in cash at post offices, the traditional alphabetical order will be followed, with payments distributed from 1 to 8 June.
What must be done to receive the pension increase expected from June
How to get the increase? The INPS has specified that it will not be necessary to submit any application. The increases will in fact be automatically recognized to pensioners who fall into the categories established by law. Both the new updated amount and the arrears accumulated since the beginning of the year will be visible on the June payslip. Anyone who wants to verify the accreditation can check their social security file on the INPS portal, logging in with Spid, electronic identity card or national services card.
