The Abruzzo wine group is confirmed among the 70 Italian entrepreneurial excellences awarded by Deloitte Private.
Fantini Wines is Best Managed Company 2026. For the ninth consecutive year, the Abruzzo wine group obtains the recognition assigned within the program promoted by Deloitte Private to Italian companies that stand out for their management quality and ability to build long-lasting development paths.
The decision was made by an independent jury made up of authoritative representatives of the Italian academic and institutional world, who recognized Fantini’s solid strategic vision, commitment to pursuing sustainable development and constant attention to the highest standards of business management. The awards ceremony was held on Thursday 29 October in Milan, at Midnight Palaceheadquarters of the Italian Stock Exchange, on the occasion of the ceremony dedicated to the winners of the IX Italian edition of the Best Managed Companies Award. For Fantini this is the confirmation of a path that began since the first Italian edition of the award; 9 victories in a row represent a continuity that testifies to the company’s ability to evolve while maintaining governance, managerial skills and a strongly shared corporate culture at the centre.
The value of continuity and the maintenance of corporate culture
«For the ninth time Fantini wins this prestigious recognition. This “streak” might make one think of an obvious result, but it is quite the opposite. Confirming yourself at high levels is increasingly complicated, standards are continually rising and checks are becoming more rigorous comments Gianpiero Pazzanesegeneral manager of the Fantini group.- The continuity of the result at the highest levels certifies how strong the competence and corporate culture are: the alternation of people and stories does not affect management ability, which actually manages to make the best use of everyone’s contributions”.
Founded in 1994 a OrtonaFantini has grown to become one of the main exporting wine companies in Southern Italy, building its development on qualitative research, attention to marketing and a management model capable of combining an entrepreneurial dimension and managerial organisation.
The value chain between roots and cutting-edge vision
«Despite the period of strong transformation in the sector, the last year of Fantini Wines has been exciting – continues Pazzanese. – The company grows stronger day by day throughout value chainand the solid relationship with customers and consumers around the world proves it. Fantini’s success is based on clear elements. First of all, a clear strategy that we look at every day and on which we will not take steps backwards even in situations that would suggest short-term tactics. Then, the obsessive attention to quality: from the vineyard to the bottle label, everything is designed and created to ensure the best experience. Furthermore, we constantly look towards the future, to intercept the tastes that will come: research and development on vines and winemaking is a fundamental component of our activities, in which we invest resources and skills. Finally, the care of human capital: Fantini represents a perhaps ideal combination between a family business and a managerial company.”
The network of Italian excellence and the selection criteria
The Best Managed Companies program was born in Canada in 1993 and is now widespread internationally. It has been present in Italy since 2018 with the aim of identifying and enhancing companies capable of standing out for performance, quality of management, capacity for innovation and solidity of their organizational models. The process is not limited to the awarding of the prize, but also aims to create a network between excellent companies and encourage continuous discussion on the best managerial practices.
«In this ninth edition we award the award to 70 companies evaluated by a group of Deloitte professionals together with a jury of experts, based on a series of parameters consolidated over time. All the awarded companies stand out for their excellent management and leadership skills, as well as solidity, valorisation of their assets and investments in strategic areas such as digitalisation. Although they operate in an uncertain scenario, for BMCs digital transformation and innovation represent a priority element to consolidate the development and competitiveness of their business”, he states Andrea RestelliPartner of Deloitte and Italy manager of the Best Managed Companies program.
For the Fantini group, the reconfirmation represents not only recognition of the results achieved, but also the certification of the continuity of a business model which aims to combine strategic vision, sustainability, management quality and long-term development.
