Murder in the heart of Manhattan

Murder in Manhattan, in the heart of New York. Brian Thompson, 50, CEO of health insurance giant UnitedHealthcare, was shot in the chest while walking to the Hilton hotel to attend a corporate conference.
The killer, described as a man wearing a cream-colored jacket, a black mask and a gray backpack, was waiting for him near the scene. After shooting, he fled armed and headed east along Sixth Avenue. The police are on his trail, but the motive for the attack remains a mystery, although a premeditated ambush is suspected.
Thompson was immediately transported to Mount Sinai West Hospital in critical condition, but did not survive his injuries. A Minnesota resident, Thompson assumed the role of CEO of UnitedHealthcare in April 2021, leading a key division of the giant UnitedHealth Group, one of the largest companies in the United States with 2023 revenue of $372 billion.
