Donald Trump has just added him to his national security team, naming him director for counterterrorism, as well as deputy assistant to the president. We are talking about Sebastian Gorka. Born in London to Hungarian parents, he was an advisor to Viktor Orban in the late 1990s. Having moved to the United States, he was part of the White House staff for a few months in 2017. A radio host, he was subsequently a contributor to Fox News, finally arriving at Newsmax, where he presents a television program. Detested by progressives and extremely loyal to Trump, he has now called him back into service in the presidential entourage, where he will have responsibility for the fight against terrorism. The Truth was able to interview him, to understand how the president in pectore is assembling his team and, above all, to understand what type of line the nascent American administration intends to take on the main international dossiers. We spoke with him about the terrorist threats the United States will face. Without neglecting the Middle Eastern question, with an eye finally turned to American domestic politics. Gorka is the first Trump appointee to give an interview to an Italian newspaper.
Sebastian Gorka, you were just appointed director for counterterrorism by President Trump. What are the major terrorist threats the United States will face in the coming years?
“We have numerous threats. Al Qaeda and ISIS have grown significantly in strength since Joe Biden returned Afghanistan to the fundamentalist Taliban regime. But we cannot ignore other actors, such as Hamas, which massacred more than 1,200 innocent men, women and children in the October 7 attacks. Furthermore, thanks to Kamala Harris and Biden who opened our borders four years ago, we know that numerous jihadist terrorists and drug cartel members have entered our country.”
Speaking of borders, how will President Trump resolve the migration crisis mainly caused by the Biden administration?
“In Tom Homan, President Trump’s nominee for the southern border, we have the perfect man to secure our national sovereignty. Together with the Secretary of Homeland Security, Governor Kristi Noem, and the National Security Advisor, Michael Waltz, the Trump team will seal the border, preventing illegal entries and begin the largest expulsion of illegal immigrants from our country in our 248 years of history”.
How will Trump manage to resolve the Ukraine crisis?
“President Trump is the greatest negotiator in the world. He wrote the book The art of the deal. I recommend all Italians to read it. He has one goal in that horrible war: to stop the bloodshed. I won’t reveal his plan. Read his book.”
Iran is a very dangerous actor in the current Middle Eastern crisis. How will the second Trump administration address the threat from Tehran?
“Exactly like we did when we were in the White House the first time. We will stand shoulder to shoulder with the nation of Israel and its prime minister. We will resurrect the incredible architecture of peace that was the original Abraham Accords. And we will re-establish a very strong sanctions program against the murderous regime of the mullahs. Beyond that, you will have to talk to President Trump after January 20th.”
Speaking of the Abraham Accords, do you believe that the new Trump administration will collaborate with Italy to stabilize the Middle East?
“We will collaborate with any nation committed to the protection and growth of Judeo-Christian civilization. Italy, under Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, is an integral part of that community. As for concrete policies, President Trump has chosen the best people to formulate them: Senator Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, Colonel Michael Waltz as his National Security Advisor, and Steve Witkoff as his Middle East Envoy.”
How will you root out Biden’s woke policies on diversity and inclusion from the Pentagon and the intelligence community?
“It’s easy: we will ban them. The president cares about only one thing when it comes to our intelligence community and our military: getting the best possible intelligence on the capabilities and intentions of those who threaten our citizens, and having militaries that can destroy enemies if the fighting is inevitable.”
I’ll ask you one last question. In your opinion, what was the main reason for Trump’s resounding victory on November 5 against Kamala Harris?
“Many things were fundamental to his success. The horrible economy under Biden. The twelve million illegal immigrants left behind by Kamala. The disastrous surrender of Afghanistan. The crazy transgender politics of the Democratic Party. But perhaps most importantly, 76 million Americans have grown tired of being told that they shouldn’t be proud of America and that our nation is bad. When they saw a man literally take a bullet from a left-wing would-be assassin, who wouldn’t give up simply because he loves our nation, they voted for him. They voted for the man who shouted ‘Fight! Fight! Figh!’ after they tried to assassinate him.”
