The blue will manage to keep the top of the ranking for 95 weeks if Zverev reaches at least the semi-finals in Vienna. Cobolli confirms sixth position but is not yet sure of participating in the ATP Finals in Turin
Jannik Sinner will remain number 1 at least until November 1st, reaching 95 weeksnon-consecutive, at the top. The defeat of Alexander Zverev in the semifinals in Shanghai could still postpone the moment of his overtaking, however certain: the blue, stopped since July due to knee problems and expected to return only in 2027, has 10,950 points in the ranking, but loses 500 next Monday, for the victory in Vienna last year, and 1000 on November 2, for the title won in the Masters 1000 in Paris in 2025. Zverev will have to reach at least the semi-final in Austria to be sure to climb over it on November 2nd. Sinner, after having given up on Cincinnati, US Open and Beijing, will not participate in the Masters 1000 in Shanghai and Paris, as well as the ATP Finals and the Six Kings Slam, a very rich exhibition tournament scheduled in Saudi Arabia. In total, the Italian will have to give up around 17 million potential prizes. In Vienna, last year, Sinner conquered over 500 thousand euros thanks to the triumph against Zverev in the final. Even more money had arrived in Paris, where by beating Auger-Aliassime in the last act of the Masters 1000 he managed to collect almost a million (946 thousand to be precise). Sinner then won the ATP Finals without losing a single match, earning a total of 4 and a half million euros. A separate discussion concerns the Six Kings Slam. The Arab tournament already provides a participation bonus of 1.5 million e thanks to his triumph over Alcaraz in the final he managed to take home more than 5 million euros. To the prizes collected on the field were added the so-called ‘bonus pool’ of the ATP, which aims to reward the most consistent and most participating tennis players in the Masters 1000, and which had allowed Sinner to pocket as many as 4 million.
