The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Karim Khan, announced this morning that he will submit “arrest warrant requests to the 1st Pre-Trial Chamber for the leaders of Hamas and Israel for the situation in the State of Palestine”. Described as a practicing Muslim, who often quoted the Koran in public statements, Khan is a believer in the Ahmadiyya movement, born in 1889 in Qadian, Punjab, a region of Northern India, at the time under the control of the United Kingdom . Ahmadis claim the title of Muslim and, as a minority group in a number of Muslim-majority nations, have been subject to persecution after being labeled non-Muslim and even as agents of Israel. He has three decades of experience as a lawyer specializing in international criminal law and human rights. A law graduate from King's College London, he has gained significant experience as a prosecutor and defense lawyer. Most recently, he served as Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and was Special Adviser and Head of the United Nations Investigation Team to Promote Accountability for Crimes Committed by ISIS in Iraq (UNITAD) between 2018 and 2021 .
The ICC statement states that «on the basis of the evidence collected and examined» by Khan's office, Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Diab Ibrahim al-Masri (commander of the ʿIzz al-Dīn al-Qassām Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas in Gaza ) and Ismail Haniyeh, along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity for the October 7 attacks on Israel and the subsequent war in the Gaza Strip « at least from 8 October 2023″. And so the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Karim Khan puts the leaders of the terrorist organization Hamas on the same level as those of the only democracy in the Middle East attacked last October 7th. This is a legal disgrace peppered with a series of sensational falsehoods implemented by yet another international organization dominated by Muslims (see the UN and its agencies), which should be reformed given its total uselessness and unacceptable partiality.
Opposition leader Yair Lapid commented on the decision of the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Karim Khan to request arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as against the terrorist leaders of Hamas: «Israel it will not accept a comparison with Hamas. Arrest warrants cannot be issued against Netanyahu, Sinwar and Deif. There is no such comparison, we cannot accept it and it is unforgivable and it is a terrible political failure. I expect the US administration to condemn the arrest warrants. I believe they will support us.” War Cabinet Minister Benny Gantz says the Israeli military is respecting international law in its fighting in Gaza and called the decision a crime of historic proportions: «The State of Israel is waging one of the just wars fought in modern history following the reprehensible massacre perpetrated by the terrorist Hamas on 7 October. As Israel contends with one of the strictest moral codes in history, respecting international law and boasting a robust independent judiciary, draw parallels between the leaders of a democratic country determined to defend itself from despicable terrorism and the leaders of a thirsty terrorist organization of blood is a profound distortion of justice and a clear moral failure, and the prosecutor's position to seek arrest warrants is itself a crime of historic proportions to be remembered for generations,” Gantz concluded. Finally, for Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz « The scandalous decision of the Attorney General of the Criminal Court in The Hague is a frontal and unreserved attack against the victims of October 7 and our 128 kidnapped in Gaza. While the murderers of Hamas commit crimes against humanity against our brothers and sisters, the Prosecutor simultaneously sues the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the State of Israel along with the abominable Nazi monsters of Hamas, A historical shame that will be remembered for Always”.
