After the IDF attack in the Beirut area on Tuesday, which eliminated Ibrahim Muhammad Qabisi, head of Hezbollah’s “Missiles and Rockets Force”, the IDF announced that other high-ranking terrorists were killed together with him. The eliminated terrorists include Qabisi’s deputy, Abbas Ibrahim Sharaf Ad-Din, and another high-ranking terrorist from Hezbollah’s missile unit, Hussein Hany, who was close to Fuad Shukr, Hezbollah’s most senior military commander and head of the its strategic unit, which was eliminated in July.
Additionally, terrorist Fuad Shafiq Khaz’al Khanafer, a senior official of Hezbollah’s surface-to-surface missile unit, was eliminated in a further IDF attack. According to reports, these terrorists were sources of expertise for the terrorist organization Hezbollah and, over the years, led various terrorist activities and force-building efforts aimed at harming the State of Israel. “The IDF will continue to operate with determination against the terrorist organization Hezbollah to restore the security of the citizens of northern Israel and the entire State of Israel,” the army said.
Sirens were activated at dawn this morning, throughout the Gush Dan, Shfela and Sharon regions. The IDF spokesperson stated that «the sirens sounded after the launch of a missile from Yemen. The missile launched by the Houthis was successfully intercepted by the ‘Arrow’ air defense system. Sirens and explosions were heard following the interception and falling shrapnel. Following sirens ringing in central Israel, the surface-to-surface missile launched from Yemen was intercepted by an Arrow interceptor outside Israeli territory; but there are currently no changes in the IDF’s defensive guidelines,” the statement read. The sirens and explosions heard are the result of the intercept process carried out at high altitude and above the Earth’s atmosphere, which led to multiple sirens being activated due to fears of fragments of the intercepts falling in many areas. Magen David Adom reported that there were no injuries following the missile launch, with the exception of several people who were shocked and others who were injured while heading to a shelter. The attacks from Yemen came shortly after Hezbollah confirmed the death of Muhammad Hussein Srour, commander of its air unit, who was killed in an Israel Defense Forces raid in Beirut’s Dahieh neighborhood. Srour, a prominent figure within Hezbollah, had previously served as a military advisor to the Houthi rebels.
After the missile launch, Nasr al-Din Amer, a senior Houthi official, wrote on X: “The occupied city of Jaffa is under attack.” About two weeks ago, the Houthis had already launched a missile towards central Israel, which was partially intercepted, with part of the warhead exploding near Ben Gurion airport. On Thursday evening, the IDF spokesperson said that, over the course of the day, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) had struck around 220 Hezbollah terrorist targets in Lebanon, including terrorist infrastructure, launch sites used to attack Israel, Hezbollah militants and weapons depots. In this regard, the head of the Israeli Air Force, Major General Tomer Bar, said on Thursday that blocking all weapons transfers from Iran to Hezbollah has become a top priority. He underlined that the ability of the Lebanese terrorist group to recover from the recent losses inflicted by the Israeli offensive depends strictly on the possibility of rearming: «Currently, in Lebanon, I will prevent any transfer of weapons from Iran, considering what we have already taken from Hezbollah» , Bar said during a meeting with officials at Tel Nof air base. The statements came as Israeli media reported an increase in Iranian attempts in recent days to supply weapons to Hezbollah. This came after the Israeli army struck a border crossing between Syria and Lebanon, which the IDF said was used by Hezbollah for arms trafficking.
